NRA Basic Pistol Shooting

The main purpose of the Basic Shooting Course is to give the student a core foundation on how to operate a firearm. A general overview of the firearm will be broken down into two parts:

1. NOMENCLATURE

  2. Slide
  3. Trigger Guard
  4. Trigger
  5. Magazine
  6. Safety (if applicable)

2. Full explanation of the mechanical function of the firearm.

  2. Firing Pin
  3. Ammunition

This course is designed to last for approximately 45 minutes and has a 15 minute window for student questions for a total class time of one (1) hour.

  4. Maintenance
  5. Storage
